Mighty Trees is more than a game it is also a wonderful instructional tool. To help get the most out of the product we have designed a series of courses and exercises to aid in the instruction of the ecologic principles. Each course focuses on a particular part of the environment and uses the game as both a resource and activity.

Courses: Each course focuses on a different set of ecologic principles. The course material parallels the cards and levels of play in the Mighty Trees game. Select a course below to see a detailed description of the course material. Please print what you need.

• Seedling Course: Emphasis on trees, habitats and climate. Topics include: Hardiness Zones, Soil Moisture, Tree Growth, Tree Competition, Forest Layers and Habitats.
• Timber Course: Focus on Weather and Natural Disasters. Topics include: Cloud Symbols, Fujita Pearson Tornado Intensity Scale, Types of Natural Disasters, Influence of Disasters on Habitats and Tree Growth.

Exercises: The following exercises can be incorporated into the main courses above. The exercises offer creative and thought provoking activities to help enrich the core material.
