North American Native Trees, Their States, and Climate Zones
All trees weren’t created to operate the same in life. Some trees require different care than others, and some can only exist in different regions. There are some fascinating examples of trees that has its original roots in North America. Some of the trees that have these characteristics that are quite fascinating to have Native North American roots are the Alaska- cedar, Ashleaf Maple and the California Palm.
The Alaska-cedar whose scientific name is Chamaecyparis nootkatensis can be seen in the Pacific Coast mountain ranges all the way from the South Central territory of Alaska to the southwestern part of Oregon and amazingly on down into the Siskiyou Mountain which are located in Northern California. The fascinating thing about the Alaska-cedar and its scope is that it can be defined by having two fragmented populations with one being in Selkirk Mountains in British Columbia and the other being in the Aldrich Mountains, in the central area of Oregon.
One tree that can make its claim that it has spread its seeds or roots through out North America is the Ashleaf maple. The Ashleaf maple which scientist refer to as Acer Negundo has a broad area from eastern states in the United states like New York and New Jersey to states that are located, in the Midwest, in Ohio and Michigan, and as far south as Florida on to states that are in the west coast region like Arizona and Nevada. It is clear that this tree can survive many places throughout the North American continent.
The California Palm with the scientific name of Washingtonia Filfera has fragmented locations from the Twenty-nine Palms area of the Mojave Desert, to the Cottonwood and Turtle Mountains, also in the Sierra Pinnate Mountains, in Baja California. This tree has been naturalized in may places and has also been placed throughout many subtropical places in the world because that is the climate that this tree flourishes in growing.
There are a vast more of Native North American trees these are just a few compelling examples of the diversity of trees that can flourish and grow in the variety of different types of climates that the continent of North America offers.
