Mighty Trees Game Rules

Although a sophisticated ecological simulation, Mighty Trees plays much like a contemporary trading card game. We designed Mighty Trees to be fun, full of strategy and pleasing to the eyes. Once you begin playing, you will want to continue playing and continue to get better.

In order to get better, however, you will have to learn about the playing cards and the game rules. Since the playing cards and game rules are firmly based on real trees and ecologic relationships, you will in essence be learning about the natural world...pretty cool huh?

Since not everyone is familiar with the play of "Trading Card Games" (a.k.a. "Collectible Card Games"), Mighty Trees introduces the complete rules of the game in three stages: Seedling (Basic); Timber (Intermediate); & Elder (Advanced). Each new stage introduces a couple of new playing card types and a few new game rules.

By dividing the complete game rules into a series of complimentary stages players can learn the game at their own pace. When you master one game stage simply move on to the next. In no time you will be playing the complete Elder Stage and on your way to becoming a great Mighty Trees General.

Collectible Card Games

Collectible Card Games?
Filled with imaginative color artwork and deep strategic gameplay, Mighty Trees is most similar to contemporary collectible card games (CCGs). Two of the most popular CCGs are:

Pokemon: This classic japanese import is filled with battling cartoon characters that mature into ever more powerful forms. Pokemon is especially popular among children 5 to 12 years of age.

Magic the Gathering (Magic): The original and continual king of the CCG domain, Magic takes place in a mystical world filled with monsters, warriors, spells, treasures and much more. Magic has continued to grow and now attracts players of all ages.

Ease of Game Play
Mighty Trees is similar in difficulty to most contemporary collectible card games. The multiple levels of play ensure that most everyone can find a version suited to their liking. The game comparisons below are based on feedback from playtesters of Mighty Trees.

Seedling Stage
Easier than Pokemon

Timber Stage

Elder Stage

Collectibility
Mighty Trees is not collectible. All 100 different playing cards are included in the game box. There is no need to keep buying pack after pack of booster cards to make a competitive deck to challenge other players. Since every Mighty Trees player has access to the same playing cards, you will have to rely on skill and strategy to win.

Price
Compared to most collectible card games, Mighty Trees is a bargain. There are few other games where you can buy 100 different cards for less than $15. Most contemporary card games also require the player to buy many more booster packs to build a competitive game deck. It only takes one box to complete your Mighty Trees collection!

While most games only offer one or two methods of play, Mighty Trees offers more game and educational options than you can shake a stick at.
